Special Committee inaugurated to help Rohingya Muslims

The Government of Maldives Inaugurated a Special committee to head the events under the “Maldivians with Rohingya Muslims” Campaign.

At a Press conference held earlier today, Member of the Special committee, Defense Minister Adam Shareef said that this committee will assist, to its full capability, in coordinating any and all events under the Help Rohingya campaign throughout Maldives. He also urged all the parties conducting any campaigns regarding helping the Rohingya Muslims to register under this committee to help regulate all aid sent from Maldives under one administration.

Speaking at the press conference, Islamic Minister, Dr. Ahmed Ziyad said that the committee has decided to conduct a special telethon from 21st to 23rd September in which all the media channels have agreed to participate and expressed gratitude towards the support and contribution given by the media and news agencies of Maldives towards helping Rohingya Muslims.

Senior Officials and staff of the Defense Ministry, Islamic Ministry, Home Ministry and the Disaster Management Center join together to establish this committee.
