Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort; a Display of Uniqueness and Luxury

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort, a unique and luxurious hotel conjoined with Kooddoo Airport Maldives was officially inaugurated Last night, by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom.

A grand opening was held at the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort to officially open the resort for business which ended with fireworks and pleasant entertainment. President Yameen, while speaking at this event said that this was a very special day for the people of North Huvadhoo Atoll. He stressed that the opening of this resort will further boost the development of Haa Alif Atoll. President Yameen also mentioned that it is a very sad and concerning issue that some of our own; Maldivian people, spread rumors and disgrace the nation in the international arena and that no citizen who loves the Maldives will do such a thing.

Speaking at the function, Kooddoo Airport’s Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of Hotel and Resorts Construction (associated with Singapore’s Pristine Islands Investment), Mohamed Ali Janah Highlighted that the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort is the first ever water villa resort in the world built with an airport. He also mentioned that they are trying to get this resort on the Guinness book of world records.

Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament and High-level officials of the Government and the managing companies of the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort attended this special gathering.

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort provides one of the best value accommodation options in the Maldives. With 68 villas including 43 located over water and 25 scattered along the white sandy beach. The resort is built using local materials, bright colors and stylish furniture and interior designs to reflect the Maldivian culture and the spirit of travel. A Memorandum of understanding (MOU) was also signed between the Pristine investments, Hotel and Resorts Constructions and the tourism ministry to provide the youth of Haa Alif atoll with 1000 training and employment opportunities.

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort will serve as yet another name to brighten up the tourism industry of Maldives and will hopefully carve the Maldivian symbols into the Guinness book of world records.
