The “Best Country Award” won at the First South Asian Youth Summit 2017 (SAYS) by the Maldives Delegation has been presented to the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have met with the Maldivian delegation who represented the Maldives at SAYS, at the President’s Office on Monday.
The President and the First Lady were also presented with a detailed analysis and a Video Report of SAYS by the delegation.
President Yameen, while speaking to the delegates, highlighted the key role played by the youth in nation building, and congratulated the Maldivian delegation on their achievement of the Best Country Award.
The President also expressed his appreciation to the delegation for attaining the honor for the country at the South Asian Youth Summit.
Along with the Best Country Award, Aishath Rafiyya, who is also an International Youth Committee (IYC) Ambassador won the Best Ambassador Award and the Global Youth Award 2017 for her work in empowering women in Maldives. Maldivian delegate, Ismail Rifau also won the 1st runner-up for People’s Choice Leader Award.
