Finance Ministry has announced this Sunday that they will be developing 300 housing units in three different islands in Maldives under the government’s stable housing and sheltering vow.
The Ministry announced that the authority was looking for interested parties to design and build housing units in the three islands on contractor finance basis. The housing units will be built on Lh. Hinnavaru, Lh. Naifaru and S. Feydhoo. Officials from the Finance Ministry also highlighted that the bidding to acquire a corporation for the construction, design and contractor of the project is now open.
Interested parties can submit bid documents before November 21. Participating companies should pay a fee of 1500 to submit the bid documents while payment has to be settled between October 16 and 21 presenting a bid security deposit of MVR 250,000. Bids will be addressed and the winners announced on November 23 at the National Tender and Project Monitoring hall situated in Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
Under the social housing scheme, Government has aimed to develop 100 housing units in each of the three islands. A project consisting of constructing 7000 flats in Hulhumale’ is also underway as this new project comes into effect.
