President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has this morning inaugurated the “Dhaalu Airport” in Kudahuvadhoo Island.
The Dhaalu Airport was developed with a runway of 1800 meters. A land area of 62 hectares was reclaimed from the lagoons surrounding Kudahuvadhoo Island for the airport development project. A special platform for private jet parking was also developed along with the latest Airport Services. These Services, in turn, will make Dhaalu Airport the all-around best regional airport in the Maldives as per the operators of this airport.
Speaking at the inaugural function of Dhaalu Airport, President Yameen said that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get over the obstacles faced in the development of the Maldives.
Finishing procedures of a resort of 275 beds are also underway in Dhaalu Atoll under the same parent company as the Airport and are expected to open soon.
Upon arrival in Kudahuvadhoo Island, President Yameen and his team were warmly welcomed by the island’s community.
The President is scheduled to visit numerous islands of Nilandhe Atoll throughout this trip.
