67% of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge Completed- CCCC

67% of the China-Maldives friendship bridge has been completed and it will be entirely finished on the scheduled date, says China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC)

During a meeting held today, the executive manager of the bridge project, Mr Lin said that the work in progress is consistent with the schedule and the bridge will be finished by the scheduled date.

Regarding the work that has been completed, Mr Lin said that the pair foundation of the main bridge and the pile construction of the approach bridge has now been completed. The work that is under construction now is some 3 pillars of the main part of the bridge and the also pillar of the highest part of the bridge.

Mr Lin said that China has started fabricating the steel box girder beam for the bridge and it will be completed and transported to Maldives by the end of January next year.

The bridge is scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2018.
