MVR 818 Million Budgeted for Dharumavantha Hospital

MVR 818 million has been allocated from the next year’s budget to obtain the machinery required to commence operations of Dharumavantha Hospital.

While submitting the budget to the parliament, Finance Minister Ahmed Munawwar said that high priority was given for developing health care services.

MVR 588.4 million is budgeted to develop both Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Dharumavantha hospital. MVR 4.588 million is allocated for the construction of the 25 storey building of Dharumavantha hospital will accommodate 500 hospital beds. USD 140 million is to be spent from the state’s budget to complete this whole building.
