Committee Passes 2018 Budget

The government budget for 2018 has been unanimously passed by the budget review committee.

During the committee’s meeting, the budget was passed by the ruling coalition and MDA’s 12 members while the opposing parties called to boycott the meeting. Hence, no opposing members attended the meeting.

Even though, no changes were brought to the amounts under the budget, there was an alteration brought to a project under the public-sector investment program.

The 2018 budget of MVR 24.9 billion will be the largest state budget in Maldivian history and will certainly aid in achieving the developmental goals under President Yameen’s administration.
