President Abdulla Yameen and the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Mr Iwao Horii discusses increasing investments in Maldives from Japan.
During a meeting at the President’s office, President Yameen and Vie-Minister Horii discussed on several topics including increasing trade and investments from Japan, expanding the tourism market in Maldives for Japanese tourists, strengthening counter-terrorism efforts bilaterally and multilaterally, fisheries development and environmental protection.
In addition, they also discussed infrastructure development in waste-management, housing and technical expertise from Japan in maritime safety and information technology.
The Vice-Minister conveyed greetings and good wishes of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and noted that it was an honour to visit the Maldives.
President Yameen further expressed hopes to enhance bilateral cooperation on regional and international fronts of mutual concern.
