Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and WAMCO are looking for interested parties to build towers in ‘The Youth City’, Hulhumalé.
Under the project ‘Hiyaa’ initiated by the current administration, Ports Limited has decided to build 3 towers of 14 storeys each and WAMCO, a tower of 15 storeys. The aim of project ‘Hiyaa’ is to provide housing for over 80,000 Maldivian citizens.
The announcement by MPL reads that interested parties in developing the towers to apply before the 5th of December 2017 and WAMCO’s deadline for their application is until the 7th of December 2017.
The government announces that 62 towers of 25 storey each will be built in Hulhumalé. It is stated that 22 different companies are taking part in the social housing project including state-owned companies and private companies
