Damages Caused by Cyclone Ockhi are Being Assessed and Attended to – President Yameen

President of Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has said that the damages caused by the harsh weather conditions brought by cyclone ockhi are being closely monitored.

Spokesperson of the president’s office, Ibrahim Muaz disclosed that the president, personally, has taken the initiative to monitor and send help to those in need. He also stressed that it is an official request of the President of the Maldives that all citizens take caution and care in this time of chaos and hardship.

President Yameen has also declared that all relevant authorities have been brought on high alert for the provision of assistance to all those in need.

Cyclone Ockhi is said to grow stronger over the upcoming 24 hours and so the Meteorological centre has declared yellow alert to the northern atolls of Maldives.
