Vice President Takes Part in a Ceremony Held to Mark Unity Day

Vice President Abdulla Jihad has attended the official functio held to mark the National Unity Day.

In remembrance if the unity and close bonds shown by the Maldivian people after the devastating Tsunami encountered on the 26th of December 2004.

Along with Vice President Abdulla Jihad, several ministers of the cabinet and high-level government officials took part in the ceremony held in front of the president’s palace today morning.

A moment of silence was observed in the ceremony in honour of the people who lost their lives on the tragic events that occured on this day of the year 2004.

The Indian Ocean Tsunami that hit Maldives in 2004 is so far the most devastating incident in recorded history.
