Indian Prime Minister accepts invitation to visit the Maldives

Indian Prime Minister Narendura Modi has accepted President Yameen’s invitation to visit the Maldives.
After the PM’s meeting with the Maldivian Foreign Minister, Dr. Mohamed Asim, it was announced in a statement by the Indian government that Modi has accepted President Yameen’s invitation.

According to Maldivian Foreign Ministry Modi will visit Maldives in a convenient time for him.

In the meeting, PM Modi and Foreign Minister Dr. Asim talked about strengthening the relations between the two countries.

Previously Modi planned to visit Maldives in 2015, however he cancelled the trip in the last-minute due to then political state of the Maldives.
