State income estimated through the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) exceeds by 6.8 percent.
In 2016 MIRA received an income of MVR14.5 billion. The state tax authority MIRA reported that by the end of last year the state received an income of MVR15.1 billion. This is approximately 4.5 percent more than the income of 2016 and also 6.8 percent more than the estimated income.
While MVR1.2 billion was received as state income in the month of December 2016, this December the income received was MVR 4.1 billion.
