Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has revealed that it is set and ready to start the groundwork on the new passenger terminal of the Velana International Airport (VIA).
Officials from MACL disclosed that the due processes are almost over and that mobilization is already ongoing.
The Project is Contracted to Bin Laden Company of Saudi Arabia which includes the development of 40 departure gates, 38 immigration counters and 12 jetties which will be constructed on a land of 78000 square meters. A fuel Hydrant system will also be established in the new terminal.
Economic Minister, Ahmed Saeed after dialogue with the Saudi Fund has given a green light that the terminal will be finished before the new year 2019.
